Training Ground Guide: Lock Good Rolls Before You Reroll

Use Training Ground as a controlled upgrade system: secure strong grades first, then spend rerolls on the weak slots.

Short answer: Lock the Training Ground results you already like before rerolling the rest. Launch-week footage shows players explicitly locking Grade A results and saving reroll currency for weaker lines.

How Training Ground works, step by step

The Kirtzi7 launch stream walks the whole loop on camera:

  1. Open Training Ground and roll — the first results are random.
  2. Lock any line you are happy with. Locks persist through rerolls: get an A, lock it, “it stays there.”
  3. Reroll the unlocked lines only. Every lock raises the reroll cost, while an all-unlocked board is the cheapest to roll — the streamer locked two Grade A lines and banked a 17,000 pile of training currency instead of spending it.
  4. Repeat, hunting the grade you want — his pattern is “roll, roll, roll, hunting A.”
  5. Optionally switch on the auto-training toggle the same menu exposes.
Locking, rising reroll costs and the auto-training toggle are all player-reported from launch footage. No official probability table for Training Ground has been published.

What to roll for first

Current player discussion repeatedly starts from attack, defense and HP, then moves into PvE damage, boss damage, damage taken, evasion and PvP-specific resistance. The on-camera refinements are worth copying:

  • Weight the damage cluster first: boss damage, HP damage and general damage lines, leveled evenly — the streamer sits at a flat 12/12, later 13/12, rather than maxing one line.
  • Defense lines: accept a B and move on; an A is a lock, not an expectation. Chasing every line up to A is described as heavy — the reroll economy does not reward perfectionism.
  • Leave PvP-only resistance lines for later unless the Arena is your goal; the streamer skips them until they matter, but does take ignore block.
  • General damage lines age well if you swap classes mid-run, because they keep applying no matter which weapon you end up holding (class comparison).

Where the reroll currency comes from

Gold is the bottleneck, and the same cross-system loop shows up in every stream: dismantle surplus jewels and low-color gear for gold, then sink that gold into Training Ground. The Yo Im J TV Knight stream spells it out — jewels become “a lot of gold,” gold becomes training levels, precisely because early gold is otherwise hard to get. Costs climb as lines go up, which is why the even-spread approach beats tunneling one expensive line; if a reroll session would starve a more important upgrade, bank the currency the way the Kirtzi7 streamer did. See AFK farming for keeping the gold flowing and gold bars for the windfall option.

Safe reroll pattern

  1. Identify the lines that directly support your current build.
  2. Lock high-grade results you do not want to lose.
  3. Reroll the remaining weak lines only.
  4. Stop if the reroll cost is delaying a more important power upgrade.

Mistakes players made

  • Rerolling before locking. The lock is the whole system — an unguarded Grade A disappears on the next roll.
  • Chasing all-A boards early. Players who aim for every line at A describe the cost as punishing; a B on a defense line is fine for weeks.
  • Spending the bank early. The strongest launch example kept 17,000 unspent because a later board might need it more.
  • Tunneling one line. Even the streamer answering “what do I focus?” answers “level them evenly” — single-line costs escalate into poor value.

Quick FAQ

What grades exist? Streamers reference Grade A results and settle for B lines; no full grade table has been published.

Does locking really raise the reroll price? That is the reported behavior: more locks, more expensive rolls, cheapest with everything unlocked.

Can Training Ground run itself? An auto-training toggle exists in the menu per launch footage; players still set locks manually first.

Which lines survive a class switch? The general damage lines — boss damage and HP damage included — keep paying off whichever weapon you hold.
