The simple AFK loop
- Equip current upgrades.
- Push stages until progression stalls.
- Fix the obvious bottleneck: weapon, class, Training Ground or survival.
- Push again.
- Only then leave the game farming for a long block.
Open vs closed
A Thai launch-week video reports that the game continues to farm while closed, but also says keeping it open produces more resources. We treat this as player-reported behavior because we do not yet have an official numeric comparison.
What one offline test actually showed
The same Thai creator ran a deliberate experiment on launch week and shared the numbers on camera. He reached around level 25 by 2:00 AM, closed the game overnight, and reopened it around 9:00 AM — roughly seven hours. Offline the character gained about two levels (25 to 27) and around 200,000 gold, but produced no item drops at all. His conclusion, echoed by the earlier advice in his first video: the game is built so that an open client earns far more, and if you want loot, you keep it running.
Read that as a division of labor, not a reason to never close the game:
| You want | Player-reported best option |
|---|---|
| Gold and levels while you sleep | Closed overnight works; the documented test still paid out |
| Weapons, armor and gems | Keep the client open — the offline test produced no items |
| High-value drops (gold bars and similar) | Definitely open, and parked on the right stage |
No official drop-rate or offline-rate numbers exist, so treat every figure above as one streamer’s single test rather than a formula.
Where to AFK: the stage boss
Multiple launch streamers give the same answer to “which stage should I leave it on?”: park at a stage-boss stage — the X-10 stages like 1-10, 2-10 and 3-10. An Indonesian streamer’s own routine was exactly this: he could not clear 3-10 yet, so he AFK farmed at 2-10 instead. The reason is what the boss stage adds on top of normal mobs — including the best reported chance at gold bars, which one streamer describes as mostly a stage-boss drop even though players have seen them drop on ordinary stages too.
Two refinements from the same footage:
- Use the highest X-10 you can win reliably, not the furthest stage you have ever touched. Losing runs idle time; the Thai fallback advice is to farm one stage back if a stage keeps beating you (see the stage pushing guide).
- If you only care about steady income and can leave the PC on, ordinary cleared stages still work — one Brazilian streamer farmed a cleared boss stage repeatedly this way and pulled valuable tradeable loot over hours.
Prepare before you go idle
Long idle time punishes bad preparation:
- Inventory space. A Japanese creator points out that with a small inventory, a long session wastes loot that simply cannot be picked up, and some Training Ground upgrades add bag slots. Empty the bag and expand it before an overnight run.
- Auto-combine. This unlocks around level 17 per the same footage. It can auto-combine new drops by tier — equipment tier 1 or 2, plus accessories, same-level items only — so set the filter conservatively: one streamer restricted it to tier 1 after realizing tier 2 would compress gear he still wanted.
- Lock what matters. Alt+left-click locks an item so automated systems cannot consume or sell it. Lock your equipped set and anything tradeable you are saving for the Steam Market.
- Gear and training first. The whole point of the push-first rule: the loop’s income scales with your stage, so equip current upgrades and buy the cheap Training Ground levels (attack, defense, HP first per beginner progression) before you walk away. Junk from the farm funds this via combine vs dismantle.
AFK FAQ
Does the game farm while the PC is off? Player reports say the closed game still accrues resources — one creator calls it farming “AFK style” while closed — but less than an open client, and the one documented overnight test produced no items. No official rates exist.
Can I AFK at a stage I cannot beat? Launch footage consistently says no: farm where you win. The stage-boss stages you can clear are the standard idle spot.
How long is a useful idle block? Long enough to fill the plan around it — creators in launch footage left it open for hours at a time (one Japanese creator idled several hours across a video and pushed from early stages to the final Normal stage). Just re-check the bag and re-push stages when you return.
